Virtual reality is gaining momentum these days mainly thanks to the hype around Oculus Rift. Meanwhile Sony appears to have a new VR headset ready, which is going to be compatible with PlayStation 4.
Morpheus is probably going to face a lot of competition, mainly by Oculus Rift, but in the augmented reality field, Sony might take a leadership position very quickly.
Google Glasses, an hypothetical Microsoft project, the Glyph glasses, these are all fine projects for augmented reality on computers, but in the console field, they are using this technology for a long time: just think about PSP and Nintendo 3DS.
Today, Sony decided to show the new technology, developed on PS4 thanks to PlayStation Camera. They released 2 videos, to show us what they achieved with elements recognition, enrichment of reality through the video, and a new enlightning technique, that uses the PlayStation Camera to give a perfect enlightment of the characters.
