MSI is apparently ready with its Gaming series socket LGA1150 motherboard which will be based on Intel's upcoming 9-series chipsets aimed to be used with Intel Core Haswell Refresh CPUs. According to leaked pictures, the lineup will include three full-sized ATX motherboards and one mini-ITX motherboard. As a part of Gaming series, each of these motherboards will be fully packed with features and carry MSI Gaming red on black color scheme.
The ATX lineup includes the MSI Gaming 9 AC, Gaming 7 and the Gaming 3 motherboards. The top of the line, Gaming 9 AC, packs 12-phase VRM design, four DDR3 DIMM slots, three PCI-Express slots, eight SATA 6Gbps, PCI-Express x2 M.2 slot, Killer E2200 NIC, 802.11ac WLAN and much more. The MSI Gaming 7 motherboard is not bad either as it features the same 12-phase VRM design, same PCI-Express and storage connectivity but lacks some of the extra features as well as the looks of the high-end Gaming 9 motherboard. The cheapest of the lot should be the Gaming 3 which will be limited to 6-phase VRM CPU design, single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot but will still feature Killer E2200 NIC as a part of the Gaming series lineup.
The lone mini-ITX Intel 9-series chipset Gaming motherboard from MSI does not look half bad either as it packs the same 6-phase CPU VRM desing, single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot, integrated 802.11ac WLAN, Killer E2200 NIC as well as AudioBoost audio and should be perfect for those SFF gaming PCs.
The entire MSI Gaming lineup should be ready by mid-May when Intel is expected to officially make its Haswell Refresh CPUs available.
