Microsoft offers US $100 to ditch Windows XP

Support ends in April

In order to try to ease the pain for the passing of the Windows XP, which reaches end of support in April, Microsoft is giving users US $100 for upgrade to a new PC or the Surface tablet.

The deal is only valid in the Microsoft Store and include Surface Pro 2 tablets, certain notebooks, All-In-One desktops and 2-in-1 products. Microsoft will keep the promotion running until June 15th and users will have to show a working XP-based device in stora and place an order for the other device by using it.

Despite its age, Microsoft Windows XP is still a very popular OS and there has been a lot of angry words pointed to Microsoft for ending the support for it. Maybe US $100 off a shiny new Surface tablet will calm some users down.
