The "Can it run Crysis?" question might be coming to Linux OS as the game developer Crytek has announced that it will reveal a version of its CryEngine 3 which will have a native support for Linux at GDC 2014, scheduled to kick off next week.
Valve has been pushing hard for Linux gaming with its Steam OS and it appears that we will soon see both the Crysis 3 and Nexuiz on that same platform, if EA decides to go for developments. While Crysis 3 is originally distributed via EA's Origin platform, and there are no plans to port the Origin to Linux, we are not sure how EA will deal with getting Crysis 3 to Steam OS.
The move from Crytek to bring its CryEngine 3 to Linux is definitely welcomed as it will certainly give other developers a push in the right direction and it is also a big win for Steam OS if it somehow manages to get around EA's Origin platform.
