Following the official launch of the Radeon R7 265 graphics card, ASUS has now officially released its new ASUS Radeon R7 265 DirectCU II graphics card which not only features a further overclocking potential but also comes with well known ASUS DirectCU II cooler.
As far as the specification go, the ASUS R7 265 DirectCU II is based on AMD's 28nm Curacao (Pitcairn) GPU and packs 1024 stream processors, 64 TMUs and 32 ROPs as well as 2GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 5,600MHz and paired up with a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU works at 900MHz base and 925MHz GPU Boost clocks.
The main feature of the new ASUS Radeon R7 265 graphics card is its DirectCU II cooler which features dual-fan design as well as copper heatpipes which are in direct contact with the GPU. According to ASUS, this should make the R7 265 DirectCU II up to 20 percent cooler and up to three times quieter when compared to the reference solution, as well as offer a decent overclocking potential of up to 15 percent.
As it was the case with previous DirectCU II series graphics cards from ASUS, this one will also ship with GPU Tweak, an exclusive ASUS tool which allows fine control of the GPU and RAM clock speeds and voltages, cooling-fan speeds and power-consumption thresholds.
Unfortunately, ASUS did not shed any light regarding the actual price or the availability date of the new Radeon R7 265 DirectCU II graphics card but we are sure we will see it on retail/e-tail shelves pretty soon.
