Gigabyte has now officially rolled its newest Brix mini PC, the Brix Gaming, which will be based on AMD's A8-5557M quad-core APU paired up with AMD R9 M275X GPU.
Despite its small size with 128x115x60mm dimensions, the new Gigabyte Brix Gaming mini PC houses some impressive specifications, including AMD's quad-core Richland A8-5557M APU clocked at 2.1GHz base and 3.1GHz Turbo clock. The APU itself features HD 8550G with 256 stream processors but in order to justify the Gaming title, the new Brix Gaming also features AMD R9 M275X GPU.
Although, there are not any details regarding the R9 M275X on AMD's site, the specifications on Gigabyte site suggest that it is a version of the HD 8800M series as it packs 640 stream processors and 2GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 128-bit memory interface.
The rest of the specifications and features include 2.5-inch SATA interface, mSATA slot, separate mini-PCIe slot used by 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI and mini DisplayPort outputs, four USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and pretty much everything you would expect to find on a mini PC.
Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not shed any light regarding the precise availability date or the price.
