According to TechCrunch Winamp has been sold to Radionomy. Just a few weeks ago rumors surfaced, that Winamp is going to be shut down. After a change in events, it looked like Microsoft was going to buy Winamp as well as Shoutcast but meanwhile Radionomy is to buy Winamp as well as Shoutcast.

TechCrunch, which also belongs to AOL has reported, that Radionomy is now listed as the owner of the Winamp name servers. Until today it remains unknown how much Radionomy is going to pay AOL for Winamp as well as Shoutcast. Apart from that it is also unknown what Radionomy's plans are with both Winamp as well as Shoutcast. Since Shoutcast is actually similar to the services Radionomy is providing, it seems logical that it's being acquired. The plans for Winamp are unclear. Maybe Radionomy is working on a new streaming service where Winamp would be a great tool and name to have in the backpack.
