Powercolor rolls out new TurboDuo R9 280X OC

Overclocked to 880MHz base and 1030MHz Boost

Powercolor has released the new addition to its Radeon R9 series graphics cards, the Powercolor TurboDuo R9 280X OC graphics card. Featuring decent GPU factory-overclock as well as custom TurboDuo cooler and Gold Power Kit, the new TurboDuo R9 280X OC is certainly one of the more interesting R9 280X graphics cards on the market.

The new Powercolor TurboDuo R9 280X OC works at 880MHz for the base GPU clock and reaches 1030MHz with Boost, while 3GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with 384-bit memory interface stayed at 1500MHz (6.0GHz effective). Since it is based on AMD's Tahiti GPU, the new Powercolor TurboDuo R9 280X OC still packs 2048 stream processors, 128 Texture Units and 32 ROPs.

As noted, Powercolor equipped the new TurboDuo R9 280X OC with Gold Power Kit which includes multi-phases design, DirectFET and Digital PWM, which should allow better stability as well as more overclocking potential and paired it up with TurboDuo custom cooler that packs two 90mm fans, GSG-shape heatpipes and a larger heatsink area, so temperatures and thermal efficiency should be much better than on reference cooled graphics cards.

Unfortunately, Powercolor did not share any details regarding the actual availability date or the price of the new Powercolor TurboDuo R9 280X OC graphics card.
