AMD R9 290X specifications revealed

Leaked by e-tailers/retailers

Although we still do not have "official" specifications of the upcoming Radeon R9 290X graphics card and the 28nm Hawaii GPU behind it, some early retail/e-tail listings jumped the gun and listed possible details.

According to an early listing from Sweden that puts the Radeon R9 290X Battlefield 4 Edition at 7299 SEK (around US $1,145) the 28nm Hawaii GPU should feature 2816 stream processors, 176 TMUs, 44 ROPs and 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 512-bit memory interface. The GPU should work at 800MHz base and 1000MHz Boost clocks while memory ended up clocked at 1250MHz (5GHz effective).

Sweclockers.com site suggest that e-tailer missed the ROP count and that it actually has 64 ROPs. Although it did not detailed the TDP, earlier pictures and the post suggest that it will need 8+6-pin PCI-Express power connectors to feed its 5+1+1 VRM.

Of course, you should take these specifications with a rather large spoon of salt since until AMD officially announce it and we see some first reviews, all these information can be considered as pure speculation.
