Asus and Acer quite confident

While we have see some sign of life from Google's Chromebook projects and a couple of devices from various manufacturers, it appears that this year could be much more important for Chromebooks.

According to Digitimes report, Acer and Asus are quite optimistic about the long-term prospect of Google's Chromebook project and are currently planing a couple of low-priced devices that should show up in the second half of this year. In addition to Acer, which is planning a new student-friendly 11.6-inch device scheduled to appear in July, Asus, HP, Lenovo and Samsung will also want a piece of that cake.

According to previous reports, Google is also working with same companies on a device called "Androidbooks" which could also debut in near future.
