EVGA is the last one amongst the larger motherboard vendors to announce their Z270 motherboards. Like when in the past, when a new chipset was launched, EVGA has prepared three new models. This time they’ve come up with the EATX form factor Z270 Classified K, the ATX flavored Z270 FTW K and the ITX Z270 Stinger.
All the new Z270 motherboards are a little improvement compared to the previous generation. The Z270 Classified K is similar to the Z170 Classified K, while the main differences can be found in the storage department. Compared to the predecessor the new model comes with an U.2 port and the latest version of the Killer LAN chip. In addition there are even more USB 3.0 and 3.1 ports.
The Z270 FTW K shares a lot of the previous model’s DNA. Nevertheless there is an additional M.2 as well as a U.2 slot. The power design is the same and even the size of the heatsinks looks very similar. Apart from that there are more internal and external USB ports and few small changes have been made to the layout.
Compared to its predecessor EVGA implemented to most changes looking at the miniITX Z270 Stinger. Looking at the I/O area for instance there is not shroud anymore covering the connectors and on top of that EVGA removed the on-board buttons and the debug LED. What’s been added is a U.2 as well as a M.2 port.
