On their official Facebook page, MSI have shown a little preview regarding their upcoming Intel Z270 motherboard. At the moment there is only a little teaser which shows a few parts of the Z270 KRAIT Gaming. Like the previous model the new one features a completely black color scheme with white labels on the PCB.
According to the image, it looks like this board is based on an ATX form-factor with your standard four DIMM slots. Despite the Krait Series belonging - at least with Z170 chipsets - to the mid-range series, we can already spot a few nice features that can usually be found on high-end boards. There is for instance an I/O cover as well as a bunch of PCIe 3.0 x16 slots.
The design of the old Z170A Krait Gaming motherboard was already quite decent, however we hope to see angled SATA ports on the new model. Checking the image we can see something that looks similar to an angled SATA port but it could also be a U.2 port.
If you are thinking about buying a new PC, which is based on Intel’s Z-series chipset, we suggest to wait a few weeks since by then Kaby Lake will be out. At the moment there aren't any new details but we are sure that other manufacturers will show little previews as well.
