The Thinkpad X1 Carbon from Lenovo has been released over a year and since there is a yearly refresh cycle on this product, it is to be expected that during CES Lenovo will show a new version. Almost certainly these units will feature an Intel Kaby Lake mobile CPUs replacing the Skylake units.


The Thinkpad X1 Carbon is a 14-inch ultrabook which is available with WQHD and FullHD (Touch) panel and narrow bezel design. Like the name suggest, the X1 Carbon is made from Carbon and its weight is a mere 1.14 Kg. Thanks to the almost borderless display and to the low weight, this makes it ultra portable and the size of your usual 13’ notebook.

The new models are most likely going to feature Kaby Lake-U CPUs like for instance the Intel Core i5-U and i7-U. In addition, despite it's still not clear in which model we will find it, Lenovo offers a LTE modem and an infrared camera. The battery life should allow this notebook to stay away from a power source for more than 15 hours.

When it come to pricing there is no information available yet. Nevertheless it can be expected that at latest during CES 2017 this missing bit will become known as well.
