Aside from the money that the company has lost so far it appears that the death of the Galaxy Note 7 will cost Samsung even more, or around US $17 billion in sales.
While the first recall that started earlier in September would cost Samsung around US $5 billion in lost sales and the cost of recall itself, it appears that the situation is much dire now that the smartphone is officially dead.
While Samsung's market value is currently at around US $235 billion and around US $69 billion in cash and equivalents, the company can certainly afford it but it will still be a big hit.
In the meantime, Samsung is ramping up the production of Galaxy S7 in order to supplement the death of the Galaxy Note 7 and we would not be surprised to see the new flagship launched earlier.[frWhile the first recall that started earlier in September would cost Samsung around US $5 billion in lost sales and the cost of recall itself, it appears that the situation is much dire now that the smartphone is officially dead.
