Steelseries has unveiled its latest gaming mouse aimed at MOBA and MMO-gamers, which will be a part of Steelseries' Rival lineup and pack a total of 15-buttons, the Rival 500.
Joining the Rival 700, Rival 300 and the Rival 100 in the same lineup, the new Steelseries Rival 500 is a 15-button gaming mouse designed for right-handed MMO and MOBA gamers. Designed solely around the thumb usage, according to Steelseries, the Rival 500 should have the perfect, ergonomic button layout.
In addition to the standard three button layout at the top, with directional wheel, reinforced left and right clicks, Steelseries switches rated for 30 million clicks and improved side-grips with double-injected rubber, the Rival 500 has another three buttons at the top, including one next to the right button and two next to the left button.
The biggest update are the side buttons, including two lower buttons that can be pressed with a flick of the thumb. The Rival 500 also comes with a completely customizable Tactile Alert placed in the center of the mouse that can be set to alert the gamer when health, ammo or anything else gets low and can be set to a wide array of patterns like Short and Long Buzz, Fast and Slow Heartbeats, Sad Trombone, Double Click, Triple Click and much more.
Specification-wise, the Steelseries Rival 500 measures 118.75x78x34x43.34mm, weighs 129.7g and it is suitable for palm, claw and fingertip grip styles. The Rival 500 is based on Pixart PMW3360 optical sensor with CPI ranging from 100 to 16,000, polling rate of 1ms, Zero Hardware Acceleration and 1:1 tracking accuracy.
According to Steelseries, the Rival 500 should be already available with a price set at US $79.99 / €89.99.
