Windows Store games lack certain features

No V-Sync, SLI/Crossfire, full screen or modding

Microsoft is pushing hard to get its Microsoft Store on the map when it comes to AAA games but it appears that games purchased over Microsoft Store will lack certain and quite important features like SLI/Crossfire support, modding, V-Sync and more.

According to a post over at Reddit, the games purchased via Windows Store, like the recently released Rise of the Tomb Raider, are built on Microsoft's Universal Apps Platform, which does not classify as a standard Windows application, bringing several problems including lack of Nvidia SLI or AMD Crossfire support, no full screen mode but rather borderless windowed mode, and no V-Sync options as it is always enabled.

The Universal Apps Platform also brings several other problems including support for modding and mouse macros and lack of support for other applications. Since they lack .exe extension, you can't add them to, for example Steam, and get Steam Controller support.

The Store also does not have a good refund policy and purchased games are only playable on Windows 10, so unless you are running the same Windows version on all your computers, you are out of luck.

The Microsoft Store has a lot of problems and it is miles away from where Origin or UPlay are and we do not even want to mention Valve's Steam.
