Samsung is planning cheaper M.2 drives

M.2 PCIe 750 Evo

Not long ago Samsung launched their new consumper flagship SSD, which goes by the name 950 Pro and fits the M.2 slot. These drives offer throughput values above 2 Gigabyte per second and are insanely quick.

Unfortunately there aren't too many details available on these upcoming M.2 Evo drives from Samsung. Apparently we're expecting these drives to be quite a bit cheaper than the Pro models. Apart from that these will support NVMe and they should be pretty fast as well, although certainly not hitting the same performance level like the 950 Pro. It's also most likely that the M.2 PCIe 750 Evo will feature TLC memory. That should be the main reason, why these drives will be cheaper than the 950 Pro.

Until today there is no information such as avaialability date or pricing, but we will certainly keep you posted.
