According to a new report, it appears that AMD is preparing its new major Catalyst graphics driver update for November, similar to the Catalyst Omega drivers released last year.
The Catalyst Omega drivers were introduced by AMD back last year and represent a major driver update that features WHQL certification, massive performance optimizations for both existing and new games as well as plenty of bug fixes.
Back in 2014, the Catalyst Omega drivers brought plenty of new features like 4K Virtual Super Resolution (VSR), TressFX 3.0, 5K display support, plenty of image quality improvements and more.
While the report from Wccftech.com does not reveal any precise details regarding the new features that could be included with the new Catalyst Omega release, the report does suggest that these might be based and meant for the upcoming DirectX 12 API. The report also suggest that while those same special edition drivers were named Catalyst Omega last year, the new ones could also have a new name.
In any case, we will we see a major AMD Catalyst drivers update in November and we are surely curious to see what will AMD bring.
