While Intel's 750 Series PCIe SSD provided some impressive performance numbers it had trouble with OS booting time, something that Intel has now fixed with a firmware update.
The OS booting time is generally slower on PCIe-based SSDs, compared to SATA-based ones, Intel's 750 Series PCIe SSD was specifically plagued by that issue, at least until today.
The latest firmware update posted
at Intel Communities message board and should significantly improve boot up time on the Intel 750 Series SSD. The firmware update is currently available
via Intel Solid-State Drive Data Center Tool. The same firmware update will be also available in the upcoming version of Intel's SSD Toolbox and Firmware Update Tool.
According to the reports over at Intel's message board, users are reporting a speed up in booting times and it is always nice to see that Intel is keeping an eye on problems and trying to fix them as soon as possible.
