There has never been more choices in the entry-level smartphone market and it appears that ASUS wants a bigger piece of that share as it has just unveiled a new ASUS Zenfone 2 with 4GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space for just US $229.
While the base ASUS Zenfone 2 option with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage was quite an impressive smartphone to buy for US $199, ASUS has now released a new version that features the same 16GB of storage but doubles the amount of RAM for just US $229. There is also a premium option that gets you the same 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for US $299.
In case you missed it earlier, the ASUS Zenfone 2 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera, dual SIM, microSD and all the usual connectivity goodies and is powered by an Intel quad-core Z3560 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz.
The new ASUS Zenfone 2 is currently listed on most major US retailers including Newegg.com and Amazon.com and hopefully we will see it in Europe soon.
