According to a fresh report, Amazon might be working on a new tablet that will have a rather affordable US $50 price tag and be ready for the holiday shopping season.

While Amazon currently has the Fire HD 6 tablet selling for US $99, it appears that the company wants another tablet that is even cheaper. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal
, the new tablet will also feature a 6-inch display, but in order to meet the low price, will be based on a low-end hardware and a mono speaker.

According to the same report, Amazon has outsourced some of the development to companies in China and Taiwan.

In addition to the affordable 6-inch tablet, Amazon also plans to release new tablets with 8-inch and 10-inch screens, all to be ready for the holiday shopping season.
