MSI teases GTX 980 Ti Lightning again

OC is lightning up

When MSI launched their GTX 980, GM204 based, graphics card, the company announced that there won't be a Lightning version using that particular GPU. With Lightning cards always being the cream of the crop it made sense, to not come up with a highly expensive custom design regarding a GPU which was to be most high-end offering only for a few months. Since there hasn't been a Lightning card for quite a while, we're really curious to find out more about this upcoming monster.

Checking the MSI Facebook page today, we found a sweet little teaser picture, show what appears to be a rendering of the upcomgin MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Lightning. It's quite clear that this is going to be one huge card and most likely the cooler will be based on TwinFrozr V design. Judging by the sheer size, this card will feature a triple fan cooler, andand it could be possible that the shroud is backlit, with the letters "OC" lighting up. We really hope that this design is going into production with an RGB backlight, since it would make the card look insanely great.

Apart from teaser picture there is no additional information. Therefore we still don't know when this monster is going to be launched and what exactly its specs are, but we will definitely keep you posted.
