MSI has unveiled its newest Geforce GTX 980 Ti V1 graphics card which does not use Nvidia's reference design PCB but rather a custom one paired up with MSI's own blower style fan.
In order to maximize the profit per card, since the company now only buys the GPU from Nvidia, instead of the entire PCB, MSI has decided to use its own PCB and components which are not far from Nvidia's own reference design. It also uses a different blower-style cooling solution with siver/greay plastic shroud and metal base plate.
Spotted by Techpowerup.com, the new MSI GTX 980 Ti V1 will work at Nvidia's reference 1000MHz for the GPU base, 1076MHz for the GPU Boost and 7.0GHz for 6GB of GDDR5 memory.
Priced at US $649.99, the new MSI GTX 980 Ti V1 should start showing up on retail/e-tail shelves.
