Intel Skylake launch scheduled revealed

First CPUs coming in August

Intel has apparently and finally finalized its launch schedules for the upcoming Skylake CPUs and according to a timetable leaked online, various segments will get Skylake chipset between August and November.

Intel plans to showcase its Skylake CPUs during Intel Developer Forum 2015 (IDF 2015) scheduled to kick off on August 18th in San Francisco, where it will finally reveal all the details regarding the new CPU architecture.

According to the timetable leaked by a Chinese website Benchlife, the first chips to hit the market are desktop Skylake-S chips for enthusiasts, the recently unveiled Core i7-6700K and the Core i5-6600K. Both of these are quad-core CPUs with unlocked multiplier and are expected on retail/e-tail shelves in August.

The low-power Intel Skylake-Y, which should launch under Core M brand, as well as mainstream and high-performance mobile Core i-series Skylake-U and Skylake-H chips are scheduled for September. The enthusiast/high-end mobile Skylake-H and Intel Xeon CPUs for single-socket servers are expected in October or November.

Intel is also expected to update the mobile CPU lineup in January next year when it will bring new improved models.
