Microsoft Windows 10 OS coming in July

According to AMD CEO Lisa Su

While we have seen plenty of details regarding Microsoft's upcoming Windows 10 OS, we still do not have a fixed launch date, but according to AMD's latest conference call, it should come in July.

During its financial conference call, AMD's CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, slipped that Windows 10 OS and DirectX 12 will be coming in July. Microsoft kept the official launch date pinned to "this summer" but it appears that AMD might know a bit more about a precise launch date.

According to the transcript from Seeking Alpha, when asked about details regarding decline of two segments, computing and graphics versus your enterprise embedded and semi-custom segments, by Halran Sur from J.P. Morgan, Lisa Su replied, among other things, that "we also are factoring in is, you know, with the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching sort of the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of a delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory build-up."

Microsoft will be holding its Build Developer Conference next week so there will probably be more information regarding Windows 10 launch, especially now that the cat is out of the bag.
