Ahead of the official launch of the newest LG G4 flagship smartphone, LG has revealed some offical details regarding the camera modules that will be a part of the LG G4, including the all new in-house made 16-megapixel main camera and the 8-megapixel front camera.
According to LG, the new "groundbreaking" 16-megapixel camera, made in-house by LG Innotek, can receive 80 percent more light compared to the camera on the LG G3, all thanks to a wide aperture of f/1.8. This should allow LG G4 to get much better pictures in low light conditions as well as do a better job in capturing moving objects.
In addition to the main 16-megapixel camera, LG Innotek has developed a new 8-megapixel front camera as a "response to the explosive growth of selfies." The 8-megapixel front shooter is using an "ultra-thin IR filter" which should keep infrared light from entering the camera lens and thus provide more natural and accurate colors.
In case you missed it, earlier rumors suggested that the upcoming LG G4 smartphone will pack a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS display, be based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 SoC paired up with 3GB of RAM and be based on Android 5.0 Lollipop with LG's new UX 4.0 UI on top of it.
The LG G4 smartphone will be officially unveiled on April 28th.
