Dell announces new Venue 10 7000 tablet

10.5-incher with RealSense camera

Dell has added yet another tablet to its Venue lineup, the Venue 10 7000. Following the design of the Venue 8 7000, the Venue 10 is a different kind of tablet which is more focused on business users.

Designed around a 10.5-inch OLED screen with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, which adds up to 288ppi, the Dell Venue 10 7000 packs the same Intel Atom Z3735F SoC, a quad-core SoC clocked at 2.3GHz, same as the Dell Venue 8 7000. It also comes with same 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 16 or 32GB of integrated storage expandable via micro SD card slot, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Miracast, micro USB port and 7000mAh battery which should keep it alive for around seven hours. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with addition to Android for Work.

As it was the case with the Venue 8 7000, the Dell Venue 10 7000 also comes with Intel's RealSense Snapshot Depth Camera. Intel's RealSense camera is actually three cameras, main 8-megapixel one and two 720p cameras which are spaced 80mm apart allowing them not to only capture length and width but also depth of the picture as well as offer focus adjustment.

What makes it different when compared to some other tablets on the markets is its cylindrical edge which houses the battery, speakers, as well as allows the tablet to be attached to a optional backlit keyboard with touchpad.

The base version of the Venue 10 7000 costs US $499, or US $629 with keyboard and it will be available in May.
