EVGA announces new GTX 980 Hybrid graphics card

EVGA GTX 980 with all-in-one liquid and air cooler

EVGA has unveiled its latest Geforce GTX 900 series graphics card, the EVGA Geforce GTX 980 Hybrid, featuring an all-in-one liquid cooling hybrid solution.

Based on a well known Nvidia GM204 Maxwell GPU with 2048 CUDA cores, the new EVGA GTX 980 Hybrid graphics card brings "Hydro" cooling performance with self-contained hybrid cooling solution which uses liquid cooling solution to keep the GPU cooler while blower style fan takes care of the VRM and memory cooling. It comes with a 120mm radiator and fan connected to a copper base.

The EVGA Geforce GTX 980 Hybrid works at 1291MHz for the GPU base clock, 1393MHz for the GPU Boost clock while 4GB of GDDR5 memory, paired up with a 256-bit memory interface, ended up at reference 7010MHz. These are actually the same clock speeds seen on EVGA's air-cooled GTX 980 Classified graphics card.

According to EVGA, the hybrid cooler keep the EVGA GTX 980 Hybrid around 25°C cooler compared to the reference cooler from Nvidia as well as provide additional overclocking potential.

EVGA will also offer the Hybrid liquid cooler as a stand-alone "upgrade kit" priced at US $99.99.

On the other hand, the EVGA GTX 980 Hybrid graphics card is currently listed over at EVGA's website for US $649.99/€779,00. Unfortunately, it is still not available.
