While we already seen it announced during Epic Games' press event at GDC 2015 show by Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, we now have some of the first close-up pictures of the upcoming Nvidia GTX Titan X graphics card.
While the precise specifications of the GTX Titan X were not announced
during GDC 2015 unveil, we now can at least enjoy in some close up pictures of the GTX Titan X, coming from both
MaximumPC.com and
Techgage.com sites.
What we do know is that the GPU will pack 8 billion transistors and that it will feature 12GB of memory, coming from 24 4Gb chips. According to pictures, the GTX Titan draws power from 8+6-pin PCI-Express power connectors and has the same display I/O as the GTX 980, three DisplayPort, one HDMI and one DVI.
The cooler on the new GTX Titan X is pretty much identical to the GTX Titan graphics card, featuring a matte black shroud and uses blower style fan. Nvidia added a few cosmetic changes, including the green glow inside the fan intake, the new Titan logo and the Geforce GTX logo on top of the card.
The GTX Titan X should be based on Nvidia's 28nm GM200 Maxwell GPU and recent rumors suggest it should pack 3072 CUDA cores while 12GB of memory will be connected to a 384-bit memory interface. Nvidia CEO also claimed that it should be faster than the GTX Titan-Z, a previous dual-GPU flagship graphics card.
During the unveil at GDC 2015, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang promised that more details regarding the GTX Titan X will be unveiled during Nvidia's upcoming GPU Technology Conference 2015 which will start on March 17th.
