While it already announced that its Steam Controller will be available in November, alongside the Steam Link and new Steam Machines, Valve has now released a preview of that same Steam Controller.

Valve's official Steam Controller page, Valve gives a bit more details regarding its new controller, which is considerably different from what we saw earlier. The new Valve Steam Controller looks a bit more like a finished product, which is not that surprising considering that all we saw so far were prototypes.
The new "dual trackpads", as Valve decided to call them, are pretty much the same as we saw earlier but the D-pad cluster has been replaced with an analog thumb stick. It still comes with standard four buttons and also includes dual-stage triggers and something that Valve calls, HD haptics, or HD haptic feedback. According to Valve, HD haptics include force actuators on both sides of the device, which should deliver precise, high fidelity vibrations measures in microseconds, so these should be good.
Valve also revealed more information regarding dual-stage triggers, which it describes as triggers that can be used as analog, digital, or both types of input at the same time.
Valve describes its Steam Controller as: "a different kind of gamepad. We’ve improved upon the resolution and fidelity of input that’s possible with traditional gamepads. Built with high-precision input technologies and focused on low-latency, wireless performance, the Steam controller enables you to experience your games in powerful new ways."
It looks quite good for now and hopefully there will be no more delays and the Steam Controller will be available in November as scheduled with a price set at US $49.99.
