New Dynamic Series and Silent Series R3
Fractal Design has unveiled new Silent Series R3 and Dynamic Series case fans that will be available in a wide size range as well as offer significant improvements compared to previously available ones.
Usually forgotten but quite important part of any enthusiast build, high-performance or silent fans are quite hard to find these days but Fractal Design's two new series might change that. The new lineup from Fractal Design starts with the Silent Series R3 fans that will be available in various sizes ranging from 40mm to 140mm. Based on a standard design with nine blades, the Silent Series R3 will offer an improved life expectancy and quieter performance, compared to predecessors.
The entire Silent Series R3 fans will feature rifle bearing and a 3-pin fan header with black ribbon cable that should improve cable routing. The Silent Series R3 two most popular 120mm and 140mm versions will spin at 1200RPM and 1000RPM, provide maximum airflow of 46.5 and 56.1CFM and produce maximum noise of 20.5 and 21.6dBA, respectively.
The new Fractal Design Dynamic series will only include two versions, the 120mm GP-12 and the 140mm GP-14. These are described as true all-purpose fans providing good airflow in any usage scenario. The Dynamic Series will feature hydraulic bearings, a counter-balancing magnet in the hub that reduces the axial tension and Aerodynamically shaped thin stator struts, notches near the fan hub and "trip wire" on rear side of the blades, which should provide better performance and lower noise output.
The new Fractal Design GP-12 and GP-14 fans will be available in two versions, with all black design and standard Fractal Design color scheme with white blades and black frame. The GP-12 and GP-14 will spin at 1200 and 1000RPM, provide maximum airflow of 52.3 and 68.4CFM and produce maximum noise of 19.4 and 18.9dBA, respectively.
While we still do not have precise details regarding the price, both the new Fractal Design Silent Series R3 and Dynamic Series fans are expected on retail/e-tail shelves in April.
