OCZ shows its new JetExpress SSD controller at CES

For both consumer and enterprise SSDs

Following the recent flood of new SSD controllers from various manufacturers, OCZ has brought its newest and fastest JetExpress SSD controller which was, of course, developed in-house.

While we still do not have an actual product based on the new OCZ JetExpress SSD controller so we do not have any clear performance figures, its specifications show that we will be looking at some rather high-end consumer and enterprise SSDs from OCZ quite soon.

Based on a PCI-EXpress 3.0 x4 interface with 8GB of bandwidth and support for 8-16 ONFI channels, 1-2GB of DDR3 DRAM cache and featuring power-loss protection circuits, the new JetExpress SSD controller is obvious meant to provide some rather impressive performance figures.

The new OCZ JetExpress SSD controller will support M.2, 2.5-inch and SFF-8639 form-factors and was spotted at CES 2015 by Techpowerup.com in its M.2 PCI-e form-factor.

Hopefully, we will see some actual products based on the JetExpress SSD controller announced by OCZ soon.
