Although teased earlier, SteelSeries has now officially announced and unveiled its new Sentry Eye Tracker which practically tracks gamers eye movement in order to show what the gamer sees when gameplay is streamed.
The new SteelSeries Sentry Eye Tracker will allow gamers to stream their gameplay from popular games like Counter-Strike: GO, DOTA 2, League of Legends and others and give those watching the stream a much more realistic stream by showing them what the gamer is actually looking at.
Ehtisham Rabbani, SteelSeries CEO noted that "today, with our Sentry Eye Tracker, we are announcing an entirely new way for streamers and viewers to see the game. This is just the tip of the innovation iceberg for Sentry, and we could not be more excited to realize all the possibilities that emerge when your game knows where your eyes are looking."
The Sentry Eye Tracker tracks eye movement and overlaying it in real-time over the main screen stream, which should bring an entirely new dimension to the viewing experience. The Sentry Eye Tracker will also allow professional-level players to analyze a wide range of statistics and develop new strategies by checking out the focus and other things.
SteelSeries and Tobii Technology are also working together to enhance gameplay by allowing developers to use eye movement as a new type of in-game control.
According to SteelSeries, the new Sentry Eye Tracker will be available as of today with a price set at US $199.99 and it is currently showcased at CES in Las Vegas.
