LG has now confirmed that the Android 5.0 Lolipop update for its LG G3 flagship smartphone will be ready in the fourth quarter of 2014, while the LG G2 smartphone will also receive the same update, just a bit later.
The confirmation comes from
LG Germany Facebook page and although it does not offer much more details it suggest that LG is working hard on getting the Android 5.0 Lolipop to its LG G3 users as soon as possible. It is still not clear if the update will actually roll out to LG G3 devices in the fourth quarter since carriers are usually in charge when it comes to updates.
LG also confirmed that the same update will also be available for older LG G2 smartphone but at a later date.
LG hasn't been known for timely updates to new Android OS but it looks like they will be stepping up their game with the Android 5.0 Lolipop.
