AMD drops some of its APU prices

Plenty of A-Series APU to choose

AMD has announced new APU prices which includes A-Series APUs from Kaveri, Richland and even Trinity lineup of APUs. The new price cuts should make a lot of existing APUs a bit more interesting during the upcoming holiday shipping season.

The price cuts start of with the A10-7850K, A10-7800, A10-7700K, A8-7600 and A6-7400K, which will, in addition to new lower prices, also include a game code for Murdered: Soul Suspect, Thief or Sniper Elite 3 game. While the game code promotion will only last until the end of October, the new prices should stay a bit longer.

The flagship Kaveri A10-7850K APU is now priced at US $143, which is a decent price cut from the original US $179. The A10-7800 and the A10-7700K got slashed down to US $133 and US $123, from US $164 and US $159, respectively. The other two APUs, the A8-7600 and the A6-7400K got slashed down from US $109 to US $92 and US $119 down to US $58, which makes them quite interesting considering that these are 45W TDP parts.

In addition to the Kaveri APU lineup, AMD has cut some prices on its Richland and Trinity APU parts including the A10-6800K, A8-6600K, A4-6300, A4-5300 and the A4-4000 APUs. The A10-6800K will now retail at US $112, down from US $139, the A8-6600K got slashed from US $99 down to US $92, the A4-6400 dropped from US $47 down to US $34 while the A4-5300 and A4-4400 will retail at US $31 and US $27.

These AMD APU Richland and Trinity price cuts are a bit interesting considering that AMD already has AM1 platform in that price range which means that the company has decided to cut into their own market in order to clear its stock. Of course, AM1 platform is still cheaper considering that you still need to buy FM2 or FM2+ motherboard in order to use these Kaveri, Richland and Trinity APUs.

In any case, AMD's APU lineup certainly became a bit more interesting and some of these price cuts make at least some of these APUs very appealing in case you are looking to build a budget PC.
