GELID launches the new SnowStorm CPU cooler

A part of GELID Silent lineup

GELID Solutions has unveiled its latest addition to the SILENT product lineup, the GELID SnowStorm CPU cooler. Based on a compact heatsink design with three heatpipes and a 92mm fan, the GELID SnowStorm is here to prove that size sometimes does not matter, according to GELID.

As noted, the GELID SnowStorm CPU cooler is a part of GELID's SILENT product lineup and based on an optimized compact heatsink design with three power heatpipes and a 92mm fan with PWM function. The precise dimensions of the GELID SnowStorm are set at 102x73.1x138mm with 372g of weight, which definitely puts it in a compact CPU cooler class.

The special heatsink design of the SnowStorm CPU cooler has a unique fin architecture that distributes air flow equally to the heatsink and thanks to three heatpipes based on Direct Touch Technology (HDT) the cooler has "unexpected" cooling performance, according to GELID. The compact heatsink size makes the SnowStorm one of the lightest CPU coolers in the class and the back plate mount makes it much secure than the traditional mounting.

When it comes to mounting, the GELID SnowStorm supports all modern CPU sockets including Intel LGA775, 1150, 1155, 1156 and LGA 1366 sockets as well as AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2 and FM2+ sockets. As far as the CPU support, GELID notes that it can cool up to Intel Core i5 CPUs and up to AMD Phenom II CPUs.

As noted, the SnowStorm comes with a 92mm PWM fan spinning between 900 and 2200 RPM, while producing between 39 and 66.3 CFM of air flow and between 10 to 24.1 dBA of noise.

The new GELID SnowStorm CPU cooler will be available as of today with a price set at US $27/€21 and comes backed by a five year warranty.
