EVGA officially shows its X99 motherboard lineup

EVGA X99 Micro, X99 FTW and X99 Classified

Following the official launch of Intel's Haswell-E HEDT platform, EVGA has now officially announced its full Intel X99 Express chipset based motherboard lineup which will include three models, the EVGA X99 Micro (E995), EVGA X99 FTW (E997) and the EVGA X99 Classified (E999). We managed to make a couple of neat pictures for each motherboard and EVGA was keen to note that the company is working on a higher end model that will most likely launch next year.

The EVGA also has a neat ace up its sleeve for the launch since as of today, EVGA will launch a BIOS update for all three motherboards that will allow them to support DDR4-2800 and DDR4-3000 memory speeds. Of course, the EVGA X99 Classified and FTW will support eight DIMMs for up to 128GB while EVGA X99 Micro will be limited to four DIMMs for up to 64GB of quad-channel DDR4 3000MHz+ memory.

EVGA's Intel X99 Express chipset lineup starts with the flagship EVGA X99 Classfied E-ATX motherboard. In addition to aforementioned support for up to 128GB of DDR4 3000MHz+ memory in eight DIMM memory slots, the EVGA X99 Classified features a 10-phase CPU VRM dwaring power from standard 24-pin ATX and two 8-pin EPS power connectors, higher gold component CPU socket, 8-layer PCB as well as five PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots which work in 1x16,2x16,3x8 or 4x8 slot arrangement when paired up with 40 lane CPU.

It also features single PCI-Express x4 slot, six fan headers, 5.1-channel audio, two Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports, a total of ten SATA 6Gbps ports and an M.2 slot. The EVGA X99 Classified also comes with some unique overclocking-friendly features like triple-BIOS support, PCI-E disable switches, EZ Voltage read points, onboard CPU temp monitor and more.

The next in line is the EVGA X99 FTW, an E-ATX form-factor motherboard which is more focused on gamers and casual users rather than overclockers.

Although it is pretty much based on the same design as the EVGA X99 Classified, it has seven fan headers, same number of PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots with the same arrangement, as well as the same number of SATA 6Gbps ports, two Intel Gigabite Ethernet ports, same memory support, but features a slightly better 7.1-channel Realtek ALC1150 audio and lacks some overclocking features which are exclusive to the EVGA X99 Classified.

The last, but definitely not the least important, is the EVGA X99 Micro, an m-ATX form-factor motherboard that will be a next favorite thing for high-end SFF builders all around the world. It features a 6-phase VRM and draws power from 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors.

As noted earlier, it comes with four DIMM memory slots and supports up to 64GB of DDR4 3000MHz+ memory, has the same 7.1-channel Realtek ALC1150 audio chip as the X99 FTW, features single Gigabit Ethernet port, has six SATA 6Gbps ports, an M.2 slot, three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots working in 1x16, 2x16 or 3x8 arrangement, has five fan headers, bunch of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, and same EZ Voltage read points, on board CPU temp monitor, 8-layer PCB and more.

We also managed to confirm all the prices for EVGA's X99 lineup so the X99 Micro should cost US$249/228 Euros/£182, EVGA X99 FTW will go for US$299/273 Euros/£217 while the EVGA X99 Classified will sell for US$399/364 Euros/£290.
