While ASUS will most likely launch a wide range of Intel X99 Express chipset based motherboards, those looking for a bit more "workstation" material will be glad to know that among that lineup ASUS will also launch the new ASUS X99-E WS, an ATX motherboard which will support no only the Core i7 5xxx series but also Xeon E5 processors.
Spotted by Brightsideofnews.com, the ASUS X99-E WS features support for new Intel Haswell-E CPUs as well as Intel's Xeon E5 CPUs. It features a total of seven PCI-Express x16 slots, eight DDR4 memory slots, one SATA Express port, eight SATA 6Gbps ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet, ASUS Crystal Sound 2 7.1-channel audio, two eSATA ports and bunch of USB 3.0 ports.
The new ASUS X99-E WS also comes with a couple of features dedicated to ASUS' WS lineup, including Q-code logger button, 12k solid capacitors, ProCool power connectors and beat thermal chokes.
The motherboard also features ASUS' 3-year warranty but also comes with a rather high price of US $519. While it might sound a bit steep, bear in mind that this motherboard uses higher-quality components and thus is more reliable than other motherboards, something that "workstation" market certainly appreciates.
