While the official launch of Intel's Haswell-E HEDT platform is scheduled for tomorrow, it was just a matter of time before we see some leaked benchmarks, including overclocked ones. Guys over at Coolaler forums decided they have waited long enough so we have a chance to see some details regarding the performance and even see the flagship Core i7-5960X Haswell-E CPU overclocked to 6.2GHz.
When it comes to raw performance the Core i7-5960X is around 20 percent faster in 4K Video Edition, 32 percent faster in 3D Rendering and around 14 percent faster in games and AI processing when compared to the Core i7-4960X CPU Ivy Bridge-E flagship. There are also plenty of results from CineBench R15, Hyper Pi and MaxxMem which shows the benefit of DDR4 memory as well as the raw power of the new Core i7-5960X CPU.
While these benchmarks all sound great, the cherry on top of these leaks is definitely the validation screen,
spotted by Wccftech.com, which shows the Core i7-5960X running at 6.2GHz on LN2 overclock and on MSI X99S SLI Plus motherboard.
Intel's Haswell-E HEDT platform definitely looks impressive and Core i7-5960X will be the best CPU money can buy. We will have a set of our own benchmarks ready for tomorrow and hopefully we will see the flagship Haswell-E pushed even further by someone from the overclocking community.
