HP is recalling faulty cables

Around 6 millions units in danger

After some issues with faulty wires in their LS-15 power supply, HP is recalling more then six million units. While most of these are limited to the US and Canada market, there are some in Europe as well.

These incidents happened on a total of 29 LS-15 type power supplies, which melted internal cables. These power supplies were used by HP between September 2010 and June 2012 for HP and Compaq notebooks.

Basically, HP is recalling all these products and it's offering a new power supply for free, in exchange of the faulty one, for a total of 5.6 million units on the US market, and 447.600 units in Canada. If you're a European user you can also apply for a change of power supply, if you own an LS-15 type.

To apply for the recall and to discover if you have a dangerous power supply, you should reach this specific page which HP created to handle the situation and fix the problem as soon as possible.
