Xbox One sales doubled after the price drop

Kinect-less Xbox One did the job

According to a fresh report, it appears that Microsoft has managed to double the sales of Xbox One after the release of cheaper US $399 Kinect-less Xbox One.

According to to Microsoft, the US sales of the Xbox One in June were "more than double" those of May. To make things more interesting, these are not the shipments to retailers but rather real sales to consumers since these are based on the retail calendar and sold through numbers.

Unfortunately, Microsoft did not reveal any real numbers for this sale report so we can actually compare them to those of Playstatin 4 or even some figures of Microsoft earlier Xbox One sale numbers. Of course, we might hear more on July 22nd when Microsoft is scheduled to release its quarterly financial report.

Back during the launch of the Xbox One, Microsoft was quite keen to note that the console and the Kinect were inseparable two things but it appears that the recent change in strategy is certainly paying off.
