Super Talent has updated its DDR3 SO-DIMM memory lineup with some new low-power modules aimed to be used with notebooks and based on Samsung ICs.
The new Super Talent W160SB4GSL and W160SB8GSL SO-DIMM modules need 1.35V to work at rated 1,600MHz frequency. The difference between the two models are in their capacity as the W160SB4GSL packs 4GB thanks to 2Gb DRAMs while the W160SB8GSL is an 8GB SO-DIMM module with 4Gb chips. As noted, both works at 1,600MHz with CL11 latency.
Unfortunately, these modules will not hit retail/e-tail but will be OEM parts which will eventually show up in various notebooks, Ultrabooks, gaming notebooks and mobile workstations.
