Google pulls couple of Google Play Edition devices

Only three remain

While Google Play Edition smartphones and tablets have been quite popular, Google has decided to pull three Google Play Edition smartphones from the Play Store, including the HTC One M7, Sony Z Ultra and the LG G Pad 8.3.

Google Play Edition smartphones and tablets have become quite popular since the last year Google I/O when Google decided to have both the HTC One M7 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition smartphones.

By pulling these three devices from the Play Store, Google has cut the number of Google Play Edition devices down to three, HTC One M8, Motorola Moto G and the Samsung Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S4 is still available on the Play Store but has been out of stock for a while. There have been quite a few rumors regarding the Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition but we are still to see it officially announced.

There are also a couple of rumors which connect the cut down with the launch of Android Silver, a premium line of Google Play Edition smartphones but there have not been any official announcements from Google.
