Another set of benchmarks on Intel's Coffee Lake CPUs has surfaced. This time it looks like the six-core Intel Core i7-8700K, that’s supposed to make it to market next month, has been put through its paces using Cinebench R15. So far it looks like Coffee Lake is going to perform quite good.

Von Carlo

Today we have another build from Von Carlo for you. In the past we’ve shared several of his builds and as you might know they always look exceptionally good. Like every day we're showing you a very nice build or from one of our modder friends. As always we will show you the nicest pictures of the build and if possible also the specifications here in the news and the full album with all pictures can be found in our Case Mod Gallery.

Compared to our test system

It looks like the rumors are starting to become more interesting when it comes to Coffee Lake, since meanwhile some more performance figures are making it through. This time a fresh result has appeared in the Geekbench database. In order to do some comparison, we have run a quick test with our Core i7-5820K at stock clocks and overclocked.

Finally available

It looks like Intel has silently released their Core i9-7920X. The Core i9-7920X features 12 cores and 24 threads, and it’s been combined with 16.50 MB of L3 cache. The base clock is set to 2.90 GHz which is a pretty significant step down from the Core i9-7900X's 3.30 GHz.

Recap

Voici un résumé de ce que vous avez manqué cette semaine ! Nous avons reçu beaucoup de configurations par e-mail, merci à tous pour votre contribution et la semaine prochaine nous continuerons à vous faire partager de nouveaux systèmes. Base clock frequencies revealed

At the moment it seem that there is basically no day passing by where there are no new rumors on Intel’s upcoming Coffee Lake processors. Just a few days ago we’ve last been writing about alleged clock speeds of Intel's upcoming mainstream processors and today there is new information on Guru3D.

With 16GB capacity

You like extreme performance memory modules? In this case you’ll be happy to know that there are new memory kits from G.Skill. The company has added a ridiculously fast DDR4-4600MHz CL19-23-23-43 memory kit with a total capacity of 16GB (2 x 8GB). The TridentZ DDR4-4600MHz 16GB retail kits are aimed at high-end X299 motherboards.

Three models

Intel's Z370 platform is right around the corner and during the upcoming weeks vendors might launch quite a few new products. Thanks to Videocardz, we can already have a glance at Gigabyte's Z370 Aorus Gaming series of motherboards, coming with plenty of new features and lots of LEDs - apparently.

rewarder

Today we have another build from rewarder for you.

X299 for the masses

During Computex 2017, Gigabyte has shown their first batch of X299 motherboards for Intel's Basin Falls platform. Meanwhile we have taken several pictures of the X299 AORUS Gaming 3 which should be one of the more competitively priced models from Gigabyte regarding Intel X299 chipset.

Right after Intel Z370 and H370

According to latest rumors, Intel is planning to release their new Coffee Lake series of CPUs alongside the Z370 chipset in Q4 2017. Although the acclaimed launch date will be somewhen in October, news leaks related to Coffee Lake are making it through almost every day now.

Targeting professional overclockers

During the last Computex 2017 ASRock has shown their first batch of X299 motherboards for Intel's Basin Falls platform. Meanwhile the company is slowly releasing all the models and today we have more details on the X299 OC Formula. This model is targeting professional overclockers and comes with a lot of interesting features.

Final clocks still unclear

The rate at which rumors on Coffee Lake are making it through these days is quite impressive. It's not been long ago that we've last written about alleged clock speeds of Intel's upcoming mainstream processors and already today we find new information on Wccftech.

With silver color scheme

Gigabyte has finally revealed the X399 Designare EX motherboard, which they first presented during Computex 2017 a few months ago. This particular board comes with a whole bunch of features as well as an exceptionally good looking color scheme - at least that our opinion.

Featuring 80 PLUS Titanium certification

Enermax has introduced its new MaxTytan series of power supply units, which are going to be available with 750W and 800W of output power, feature modular design as well as a 5-year warranty plan and 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency rating.

SonGay Custom

Today we have another build from SonGay Custom for you.

New high-end AM4 motherboard

The X370 Gaming M7 ACK from MSI is a high-end motherboard that comes with a few interesting features. Compared to X370 XPower Gaming Titanium, the Gaming M7 ACK should be a bit cheaper but still pack a bunch of features. At a first glance the X370 Gaming M7 ACK looks very similar to the Intel Z270 version with the same naming.

Same design of Z270 series

According to latest rumors, Intel is planning to release their new Coffee Lake series of CPUs alongside the Z370 chipset in Q4 2017. According to the first leaks, Z370 motherboards appears to be very similar to Z270 motherboard, but beside this aspect Coffee Lake chips won’t work in the 7th generation platform. Coffee Lake and Kaby Lake are actually pin-compatible, meaning both share the same LGA1151 socket.

Bye bye i7-6700K and i5-6600K

One month before the launch of Coffee Lake, Intel retires their 6th generation processors. The two years old Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K are now discontinued. The retirement of the 6th generation chips doesn't really come as a surprise, since Intel never sold three generations of chips in parallel.

Available until March

Microsoft is giving Windows 10 S users more time to make the free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. The free upgrade period is now set to close on March 31st next year, which is three months after the previously announced ending date. Windows 10 S devices are pretty limited and slow compared to the ones running the normal version of the operating system.
