It looks like the rumors are starting to become more interesting when it comes to Coffee Lake, since meanwhile some more performance figures are making it through. This time a fresh result has appeared in the Geekbench database. In order to do some comparison, we have run a quick test with our Core i7-5820K at stock clocks and overclocked.



According to the Geekbench database, the upcoming Intel Core i7-8700K at stock frequencies hits 24'260 points in the multi-core and 5'773 points in the single-core routine, while the Core i7-5820K with stock frequencies and same DDR4-2400 memory speed is able to achieve 21'873 points in multi-core and 4'944 points in single-core. In other words the Core i7-8700K is 10% faster in multi-core and 15% faster in single-core.

According to the information in the Geekbench database, the Coffee Lake CPU packs a base clock of 3.70 GHz and boosts up to 4.40 GHz. Apart from that there is 12MB of L3 cache, which translates into 2MB per core. We have also tried to beat the Coffee Lake score with our Core i7-5820K. With the CPU overclocked to 4.20 GHz we have scored 24'285 points in the multi-core and 4'955 points in the single-core routine. While we’ve beaten the multi-core score, we are still pretty far away from the single-core result.
