Gigabyte announces G1.Sniper B5 motherboard

For gamers on the budget

Gigabyte has announced a new motherboard aimed at those that do not plan to do any serious overclocking but still like to get at least some of the premium features usually reserved only for high-end motherboard, the G1.Sniper B5. Based on standard ATX form-factor and Intel's B85 Express chipset with support for Intel's Core Haswell LGA1150 CPUs, the new G1.Sniper B5 comes with some impressive features including dual-BIOS, premium integrated audio and AMI UEFI BIOS with G1.Killer setup program.

The new G1.Sniper B5 motherboard features 4+1-phase design powered by 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors. It lacks the Bigfoot Killer NIC and features Intel's GbE Ethernet chip, Realtek's ALC898 CODEC with ground-layer isolation, Nichicon audiophile-grade electrolytic capacitors on the AMP stage, and a removable OPAMP chip.

The rest of the specs and features include two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (x16/2.0 x4), two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 and standard PCI slot. It also comes with four SATA 6Gbps and two SATA 3Gbps ports as well as a couple of USB 3.0/2.0 ports.

Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not reveal any details regarding the actual price or the precise availability date for the new G1.Sniper B5 motherboard.
