Z270 costs 31% more at launch than Z170

Quite high-priced at launch

Starting from today you can find all the new Intel Z270 motherboards listed in stores and online shops. Although not all the models are yet available on Geizhals.eu, we have decided to create a little "round-up" with the most interesting models from ASUS, ASRock, Gigabyte and MSI. The prices are pretty interesting and also higher what we would have actually expected.

Checking the price at launch of the new old Z170 motherboards we see something pretty interesting. Speaking about the ASUS ROG series we see the prices of this generation are much higher than with Z170. According to the price watch tab on Geizhals, the Maximus VIII Hero at day one cost 208 Euro and the Formula was to set you back 343 Euro. Now the new Maximus IX Hero costs 31% more.

Since Gigabyte introduced quite a lot of completely different Z270 based motherboards it is pretty difficult to cross compare them with the Z170 models. However the most expensive model for Kaby Lake processors is the Gigabyte Aorus GA-Z270X-Gaming 9 which is equipped with a PLX PEX8747 chip, thus already slated to be ridiculously expensive. Nevertheless, the final price is definitely stunningly high.

Following you find all the prices we were able to find thus far.
