Alleged benchmarks on AMD Vega

AMD Vega tested on Ashes of Singularity

According to the Ashes of the Singularity database benchmark results on an unknown GPU have surfaced. So far the rumor mills are suggesting that this could be AMDs upcoming RX 490 card, which is supposedly based on Vega.

Having a look at the screenshots we see that this new and unknown card has been tested using FullHD, 1080p resolution. Apart from that it appears the levels of detail were set relatively low, while the tests were conducted using DirectX 12. Judging by the final score it looks like an upcoming high-end card has been tested and therefore we don’t really understand why 1080p was tested and not UHD - 2160p.

As we already mentioned it is believed that the results at hand were gathered using an upcoming AMD Vega based GPU. If that really was the case than Vega based cards should be approximately as quick as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080.

AMD's Vega architecture is expected to launch in the first half of 2017. At the moment there are only rumors and AMD could show a Radeon RX 490 for instance even during the upcoming New Horizon event taking place December 13th.
