Fable Legends to be free-to-play game

Four against one MOBA model

Those that have been waiting for Lionhead Studios' new Fable Legends game might be glad to know that the game will use a free-to-play model and without pay-to-win experience.

According to Lionhead Studios, the Fable Legends will be based on one versus four model, where four heroes, each with its own unique set of powers, will face off with a single villain player.

Borrowing from MOBA games like Dota 2 and League of Legends, each cast of heroes will rotate every two weeks and loot or experience will stay with a certain character until is again available in future rotation. Of course, you can always "buy" that same character to use it in every game, with either in-game currently or real cash. The same principal goes for villain characters as well.

As it will launch on both PC and Xbox One, Fable Legends will also be one of those rare games to offer cross-platform play between those two platform and will also have support for DirectX 12.

Unfortunately, we still do not have any precise details other than it will be available for Xbox One and PC sometime this year.
