According to our sources, which can't be named for obvious reasons, AMD is preparing to launch its new HD 7990 Malta dual-GPU graphics card on April 24th. The selected members of the press and their editors should already have the new graphics card in their hands and have been given a green light for the April 24th.
There are still a lot of unknowns as we might be looking at a limited launch with only some AIB partners, but we will surely hear more as we draw closer to the April 24th. We also might be looking at a classic paper launch while it is still not clear if the new HD 7990 graphics card will be available in retail/e-tail on the same date.
In case you missed it, the new graphics card should feature some sort of improved Tahiti GPUs as it only need two 8-pin PCI-Express power connectors but still promises very high GPU clocks. The reference edition, pictured earlier, will be using a dual-slot triple-fan cooler.
On a similar note, the Benchmark.rs review site posted three rather interesting pictures of a "mystery" graphics card, which means that selected editors are already playing with it in their labs.
